Womb Wisdom Workshop 1 1/2 hours

Deirdre Lovell conducts a double master workshop for beginners blending the sacred womb wisdom of Raqs Sharqi (belly dance) with the therapeutic core strengthening work of the Pilates based movement system. The first part of the class teaches the beauty of breathing, rhythm and isolation in a celebration dance of our Goddess consciousness, sensual awareness, female rites of passage, sacred healing and spiritual divinity. Basic movements and patterns are mastered to encourage improvisational freedom with fluidity and grace. The second part of the class is exercised on the floor mat (par terre) to increase gravitational body awareness, stretch and core strength. Students should bring a hip scarf for the dance and a mat or towel for the floor barre. Nothing else is required except enthusiasm.

Sensual Spirit Workshop 2 1/2 hours

Deirdre Lovell conducts a master workshop designed for women in the art of improvised sensual movement. This workshop is an experience of self-exploration. You will rediscover your own sensual expression as you peel away layers of self doubt and waning self-confidence. Loving the body you’re in and flaunting it is what this workshop is all about.
